The majority of software is written in high-level programming languages. As of 2015, most personal computers, smartphone devices and servers have processors with multiple execution units or multiple processors performing computation together, and computing has become a much more concurrent activity than in the past. If you have updated to macOS 10.16/11 Big Sur, please note that Adjust AI, Jpeg to RAW AI, and Studio 2 have not yet been updated to facilitate Big Sur yet.
I have not tried "Topaz", but if you already upgraded to Big Sur, some of the applications are not yet ready. Some application may need to be called by scrolling down to "Other" in the "Edit with" menu. You can call any external editor from the menu item "Image > Edit with > Other", if your version of Photos already has this menu item. What is your system version? Are you still using macOS 10.13 as shown below your question?
